Marvin W. Sams, N.D., R. EEG T., Dipl. EEG, BCIA-EEG is a Certified
EEG Biofeedback Practitioner (Biofeedback Certification Institute
of America), a Registered EEG Technologist (American Board of Registration
of Electroencephalographic Technologists), and a Certified Quantitative
EEG Technologist (Association of Certified Quantitative EEG Technologists).
He is Past President and Past Board Member of the American Society
of EEG Technologists, and Past Board Member of The American Board
of Registration of EEG Technologists. Currently, Dr. Sams is Technical
Editor of the Journal of Neurotherapy, Board Member of the American
Board of Certification in Quantitative Electroencephalography, Secretary-Treasurer
of the EEG Biofeedback Division of the American Association of Psychophysiology
and Biofeedback, and Immediate Past President of the American Association

Dr. Sams
has almost four decades of psychophysiological, electrophysiological
and electroneurodiagnostic experience in both clinical and research
setting. His past professional affiliations include: Staff EEG Technologist
at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, Research Supervisor
of the Section of EEG at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and
Faculty and Supervisor of the EEG Laboratories at the Ohio State University
Hospitals, Columbus, Ohio.
Using his unique
understanding of how the normal, abnormal and superior brain does
its job, Dr. Sams has spent the past decade developing highly specific
and effective Neurofeedback training protocols. His clinical research
has lead to the development of a clinically proven system that rapidly
remediates virtually any neurological inefficiency, including learning
disabilities, ADD/ADHD, depression, and many of the symptoms of head
injury and stroke.
Dr. Sams is the inventor
of the ECI Electro-Cap, a unique EEG electrode system used internationally
by leading medical centers. The electrode system greatly improves
electrode placement accuracy over old methods, while reducing patient
setup time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes or less.
He has been allowed several patents for his inventions of innovative,
medical-related technology, honored with an international award from
the International Federation of Societies of Electroencephalography
and Clinical Neurophysiology, and awarded the Maureen Berkeley Award
by the American Society of EEG Technologists for outstanding written
technical contributions to the field of Electroneurodiagnostics.
Dr. Sams uses his knowledge of neurophysiology, electrophysiology
and psychophysiology to maximize human potential, and to achieve optimum
performance. His clinical specialty is performance enhancement, working
with athletes, entrepreneurs, sales and business professionals, and
children and adults with Learning Disabilities, ADD/ADHD, depression,
closed head injuries, stroke, and stress/anxiety problems.
