Dr. Marvin W. Sams, M.A., R. EEG T., BCIA-Senior Fellow, Dipl. QEEG holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Senior Fellow status as a Certified EEG Biofeedback Practitioner (Biofeedback Certification Institute of America), is a Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists), and has both technologist and Diplomat status from the QEEG Certification Board. He is Past President and Past Board Member of the American Society of EEG Technologists, Past Board Member of The American Board of Registration of EEG Technologists and Past President of the Association of Quantitative EEG Technologists.
Dr. Marvin has over four decades of psychophysiological, electrophysiological and electroneurodiagnostic experience in both clinical and research setting. His past professional affiliations include: Staff EEG Technologist at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, Research Supervisor of the Section of EEG at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and Faculty and Supervisor of the EEG Laboratories at the Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus, Ohio. He is presently Director of The Sams Center.
Dr. Marvin is the inventor of the ECI Electro-Cap, a unique EEG electrode system used in leading medical centers worldwide. The electrode system greatly improved electrode placement accuracy over old methods, while reducing patient setup time from 30 minutes to 5 minutes or less.
He has been allowed several patents for his inventions of innovative, medical-related technology, honored with an international award from the International Federation of Societies of Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, and awarded the Maureen Berkeley Award by the American Society of EEG Technologists for outstanding written technical contributions to the field of Electroneurodiagnostics.
Using his unique understanding of the normal, abnormal and superior brain, Dr. Marvin has spent the past two decades developing highly specific and effective Neurofeedback and other neurological training processes that remediate and optimize performance and maximize human potential.
